Backups and Snapshots
Recovery points you can trust

Create manual snapshots before risky changes or enable automated backups for scheduled protection. Restore in place, create a new VM, or recover selected disks when something goes wrong.

What we solve

Backup and snapshot problems IBEE solves

Protect root disks with backups, capture attached volumes with snapshots, create rollback points before risky changes, and restore with confidence.

Are backups easy to forget?

Enable automated backups with daily or weekly schedules to keep recovery points ready without manual effort.

Are old recovery points increasing costs?

View protected size, captured disks, created time, and status so teams can clean up old snapshots and control recovery storage spend.

Do risky changes need rollback points?

Create manual snapshots before deployments, OS updates, migrations, or configuration changes.

Are attached volumes easy to miss?

Use snapshots to capture the root volume and attached persistent data volumes before important workload changes.

Should recovery support different scenarios?

Restore in place, create a new VM from a recovery point, or recover a selected disk depending on the incident.

Do restore actions need clearer impact?

Review recovery point details, restore previews, and impact warnings before confirming recovery actions.

Pricing

Protect every workload. Pay only for storage.

Snapshots are billed on stored incremental data at ₹4.50 / GB-month. Automated backups are billed on protected root volume size at ₹2.25 / protected GB-month with 7 retention copies included. Prices are exclusive of GST.

Comparison

How backups differ from snapshots

Understand the timing, scope, and retention policies to configure the optimal safety layer for your application.

Snapshots

Manual recovery points created before deployments, upgrades, migrations, configuration changes, or cloning workflows.

Best forFast rollback, cloning, pre-upgrade safety net
RunsOn demand
RetentionUntil you delete them
Pricing basisStored incremental data

Backups

Scheduled recovery points for always-on protection against accidental loss and operational mistakes.

Best forDaily protection and 7-day safety net
RunsAutomatically on schedule

What protection costs in practice

Example monthly bills assume one full snapshot is stored and automated backups are enabled. Real snapshot bills are often lower because incremental snapshots store changed data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Snapshots are manual recovery points created when you need them, usually before deployments, upgrades, migrations, or risky changes. Backups are scheduled recovery points that run automatically.
Snapshots cost ₹4.50 per GB-month and are billed on stored incremental data. The first snapshot stores the used data, and later snapshots store changed data.
Automated backups cost ₹2.25 per protected GB-month and include 7 retention copies. In the current release, automated backups cover the root volume.
Snapshots cover both the root volume and attached data volumes. Automated backups currently cover the root volume only; attached-volume backup support is planned and should use the same per-GB pricing model.
Snapshots are incremental. The first snapshot stores the full used disk, and each later snapshot stores only what changed since the previous snapshot. You pay for stored data, not the full provisioned disk size.
Automated backups keep 7 retention copies. If you need to keep a specific point in time for longer, convert it into a snapshot and retain it until you delete it.
No. Restore actions do not have a separate restore fee, per-action fee, or restore egress fee. If you restore into a new VM, the new VM and restored volumes are billed as active resources.
No. All listed prices are exclusive of GST. GST is added on the invoice as applicable under Indian tax law.
